Accessibility
How we make AABStudio usable for everyone, what is not fully accessible yet, and how to tell us about a problem.
Our commitment
We want everyone to be able to use AABStudio, including people who use a screen reader, a keyboard instead of a mouse, screen magnification, voice control or other assistive technology.
We work towards the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.1 at level AA, the standard most widely used for websites and web apps.
How accessible AABStudio is
AABStudio is partly conformant with WCAG 2.1 level AA. This means most of the website meets the standard, but some parts do not yet fully meet it. Those parts are listed below so you know what to expect.
What you can do
- Zoom in with your browser, up to 200%, and pages adjust to fit your screen.
- Use the site on a phone, tablet or computer, in portrait or landscape.
- Switch between light and dark mode.
- Use a keyboard to move around most pages and forms.
- Set the teleprompter text size, typeface, text colour, background colour and margins, choose colours with strong contrast, and control the scroll speed. Scrolling can be paused at any time.
- Use your phone as a remote for the teleprompter instead of a mouse or keyboard.
- On paid plans, download captions for your finished videos as a captions file.
Parts that are not fully accessible yet
- Video editor timeline. Moving and trimming clips relies mainly on dragging, so some editing is difficult with a keyboard alone.
- Presenter screen and phone drawing. Drawing on screen needs a mouse, pen or touch screen.
- Camera previews and recordings. Live previews and new recordings have no captions until you add them.
- Your own content. Videos, images and files uploaded by our users may not have captions or text descriptions. People who publish content are responsible for making it accessible.
- Human verification on sign up. The check that stops automated sign ups comes from an outside service and may be hard for some people to complete. If it stops you, email us and we will help you create your account another way.
- Older pages. A few older pages may still have colour contrast or labelling problems that we are working through.
We are working to improve these areas. If any of them stops you doing something, please tell us and we will look for another way to help.
Tell us about a problem
If you find something hard to use, or need information in another format such as large print or plain text, email admin@aabstudio.ai. It helps to include:
- the address of the page,
- what you were trying to do and what happened,
- the device, browser and any assistive technology you use.
We read every message and will reply as soon as we can.
If you are not happy with our reply
Please reply to us first so we can try to put things right. If you live in the United Kingdom and are still not satisfied, the Equality Advisory and Support Service (EASS) offers free, independent advice about discrimination and accessibility at equalityadvisoryservice.com.
How we check accessibility
When we build or update a page, we check it at screen sizes from small phones to large monitors and in both light and dark mode, and we look at keyboard use, labels and colour contrast. We review this statement when we make significant changes to the platform.
