How to use AABStudio

From your first script to a finished video. Follow the steps in order, or jump to the part you need.

1

Create your account

Go to aabstudio.ai, create an account and confirm your email address. Everyone starts on the Free plan, with no card needed. There is no free trial of the paid plans; when you need more, choose Creator, Pro Studio or Studio Team on the Pricing page.

AABStudio works on computers, tablets and phones. Use a steady internet connection, and allow camera and microphone access when AABStudio asks for it. Once you are signed in, your dashboard is your starting point: it shows your projects, your plan and your credits, with cards to start each kind of work.

2

Read with the teleprompter

Open the teleprompter and type or paste your script into the Library tab. Choose Read Mode to practise, or Record Mode to film yourself while you read. The script can follow your voice as you speak, or scroll at a speed you set.

  • Settings lets you change the text size, scroll speed and countdown, and flip the text for a glass teleprompter rig.
  • Share gives you a QR code to control the teleprompter from your phone, and a link to show the script on a second screen.

Reading never has a time limit. Recording is limited each day for guests and Free accounts, and unlimited on paid plans. On a paid plan, your takes can be saved into a project as new scenes, or sent straight to the Edit Suite in the order you choose.

3

Start a project and write your script

From your dashboard, create a new project and give it a clear title. A project holds everything for one video: the script, the scenes, your recordings, your edit and your exports.

Write or paste your script on the project page and click Save changes. Then use:

  • Script coach to get suggestions on clarity, pacing, tone and delivery, and apply the ones you like.
  • Script history to see earlier wording and bring back an older version.

Projects, scenes, recording and the Edit Suite are part of the Creator, Pro Studio and Studio Team plans.

4

Turn your script into scenes

Click Manage scenes, then AI Segmentation to break your saved script into short scenes. The credit cost and your balance are shown under the button. Check the result and adjust it: edit the text of a scene, split a long one, merge two short ones, add a scene by hand or change the order.

Each scene can have its own background and a small picture over your recording, set from its overlay panel. After recording, mark each scene Approve or Needs retake, so you always know what is left to do.

5

Record each scene

Click Record on a scene. Choose your camera and microphone, set the orientation and framing, and turn on the grid if it helps you line up the shot. The scene's script is shown while you record.

  • Manual recording scrolls the script at the pace you choose.
  • Sync recording listens as you speak and moves the script with you.

Watch the take back, then use it or record again. Every saved take is kept in My videos.

6

Use an AI Presenter

When you would rather not appear on camera, click AI Presenter on a scene, check the script, and pick a presenter or use your own photo. A clear, well lit photo taken from the front usually gives the best result. Keep the page open while the clip is made; it can take a few minutes and the time varies.

AI Presenter is part of the Creator, Pro Studio and Studio Team plans and uses credits for each clip. Credits are only taken when a finished clip is saved, so a failed attempt costs nothing. Only use photos of yourself, or of people who have given you permission, and review every video before you publish it.

7

Put it together in the Edit Suite

Open the Edit Suite from your project's Scenes page or from the dashboard. Click Rebuild Main Video from scenes to lay your scenes end to end, and your clips are joined into one video. Your changes save automatically.

  • Cut and arrange: drag clips to move them, drag their edges to trim, split at the playhead, or mark in and out points to use part of a clip.
  • Captions: open the Text menu to make captions from your script, then change their font, size, colour and position.
  • Background: use a colour, a picture or a blur behind your video.
  • Polish: add transitions, filters, logos, pictures, music and picture in picture.
  • Voice over: record your voice straight onto the timeline.
  • Tracks: click a track name to choose where new items go, and use each track's buttons to solo, mute, lock or hide it.

Creator includes the core editing tools and captions. Pro Studio and Studio Team add the full timeline, uploads of your own pictures, video and music, overlays, voice over and the audio tracks.

8

Export your video

Click Export, choose a platform, a resolution and a format, and start the export. The platform sets the shape of your video:

  • Landscape 16:9 for YouTube, LinkedIn and X
  • Vertical 9:16 for TikTok and Instagram Reels
  • Square 1:1 for Facebook

Exports are MP4 or MOV. The Free plan exports at 720p with an AABStudio watermark, Creator at up to 1080p, and Pro Studio and Studio Team at up to 4K. Exporting never uses credits. Finished files appear under Recent exports on the export page, ready to download, and paid plans can also download captions as an SRT file. Keep your own copy of each finished video.

9

Find your videos and files

My videos holds every recording, AI Presenter clip and uploaded video across your projects. Search, filter by project, play, download, rename or delete them there.

The Assets library holds your own pictures, music and video clips (JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, MP3, WAV, OGG, MP4 and WebM) for use in any project. Uploading to Assets is part of Pro Studio and Studio Team.

10

Present live with your phone

The Presenter Screen turns a laptop, projector or TV into a live board while your phone becomes the pen. Show a whiteboard, a blackboard, your own pictures as slides, or a recording from one of your projects. Click Start session, then on your phone open aabstudio.ai/remote, sign in to the same account (or an account in the same team) and type the 6 digit code shown on the screen.

From your phone you can draw, use a laser pointer, change slides and play or pause a recording, and it all appears on the big screen as you do it. The Presenter Screen is part of Pro Studio and Studio Team.

11

Record a talk over your slides

The Presentation Studio records you talking over your own slides, one slide at a time, with your camera shown in a small window.

  • Prepare: add slides from pictures, PDF pages, videos, a whiteboard or a blackboard, write speaker notes and put them in order.
  • Record: record each slide as its own take, drawing over it if you like.
  • Review: watch every take, keep the best one for each slide and redo only the slides you need.

When you are happy, send the takes to the Edit Suite to finish and export. A mistake only ever means recording that one slide again. The Presentation Studio is part of Pro Studio and Studio Team.

12

Work as a team

On Studio Team, the owner invites people by email from the Team page. Invitations stay open for 7 days and hold a seat until they are accepted. Everyone in the team can open and edit the team's projects, and AI Presenter draws on one shared pool of credits. The owner can see what the team has used and can add seats.

Team projects belong to the team, so anyone who leaves loses access to them, including projects they created. The owner manages members and seats.

13

Plans and credits

Each paid plan adds a monthly credit allowance on your billing date, on top of what you have left. Credits are used for AI Presenter clips and AI Segmentation, never for exporting. Unused credits carry over while your subscription stays active, and you can buy extra credits from Billing on any paid plan. Every credit added or used is listed in your credit history.

You can change or cancel your plan from Billing. A cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have paid for, and you keep access until then. Current prices, allowances and features are always on the Pricing page.

14

When something is not working

Once you are signed in, click Chat with Abby at the bottom right of any page. Abby knows which page you are on and can tell you where each tool is and how to use it.

  • Camera or microphone not showing: check that you allowed access, and that no other app is using them.
  • Sync recording loses its place: speak clearly, reduce background noise, or switch to Manual.
  • AI Presenter looks wrong: try a sharper photo, facing forward, with even light and a plain background.
  • A project is missing: make sure you are signed in to the right account. Team projects only appear for current team members.
  • An export failed: start it again. If it fails a second time, contact us.

If you need us to look at a project, open it and click Allow support access at the bottom of the page. This lets our team view that project only, without changing it. It switches off by itself after 7 days, and you can switch it off sooner. Then email admin@aabstudio.ai with the project name and what went wrong.
